and Integrity of Creation
|

|
Of particular concern in all of our ministries is the establishment of
a just society. We call ourselves to embody gospel values and to
live the social teachings of the church. Working toward the
enablement of persons and the promotion of human dignity, we
contribute to positive systemic change in society.

At the
deepest core of our being, we
School Sisters of Notre Dame, have a
desire and a need to be for others. We are called to be deeply
inserted in our world, to address its basic needs, and to lay down
our lives that others may live. We are called to transform the world
by making Christ visibly present through our ministry as educators.
We are called to transcend ourselves, through the power of the
spirit, in order to be more for others. |
School Sisters of Notre Dame live and minister in more than 30
countries around the world. The internationality of our congregation
affects all that we are and do; it broadens the scope of our concern
and fosters in us a readiness to serve people of various cultural
backgrounds and to witness to the possibility of overcoming national
and cultural barriers to bring about the oneness of all in God.
|
As educators with a world vision, we are especially sensitive to
the needs of women, children and those who are poor. We strive to
create a global community where human dignity is respected, the
environment is treasured, spirituality is nourished, and justice is
practiced.
